I need to hear it a few more times to really get the layout in my head of how it would be shot, but yeah...just something to add to the "to do" list of other things I want to film.
Long fucking list.
You know, I think I push a lot of television onto others. Not so much the reality side of things, cause that's a toughy to push to some people. But other shows; scripted shows I tend to make more of a case for.
Last night's "Deadwood" episode was the infamous 38 "cocksucker" episode. It also, for whatever reason or another marks a turning point in the season for me. When something clicked or came together, it happened for me in that episode. It's the point in the season when you have finally gotten to know a few characters and actions they make seem so "them" to make. When an actor can look, in character, at another character in the show and you can read their eyes. It's the same looks from previous episodes, but now...having gotten to know the character, you can tell their thoughts.
Anyway, apparently the episode from last night, titled "Mr. Wu", is that point for me. It's also a turning point for one of the main characters of the season. A point in which you finally see, quite visibly, the turn for the worse he has taken and where that turn may lead him. For the actor, it's fucking amazing to see the transformation and amazing more so how he was overlooked for any kind of award. Then again, so many this first season were overlooked.
At least the Golden Globes saw fit to recognize Ian McShane (the guy in my icon).
It's one of the best first season's I have ever seen of a show from HBO. It can stand alone really. It has a beginning, a middle, and an end...but it's nice to see it return in a few weeks and it has already been confirmed that a 3rd season will begin filming in July.
Good shit here. Hope some of you can catch it at some point.
